Al Fateh Mosque

Al Fateh is one of the largest mosques in the world. It spans over 6,500 square meters and can accommodate around 7000 worshippers at a time. The mosque was built in 1988 and is made up of marble, glass and teak wood. The huge dome of on top of the mosque is entirely made up of fiber glass and is the world’s largest fiber glass dome. The entire structure offers a spectacular view during night when it comes alive with the lights. It is one of the most premium tourist attractions in Bahrain. It is open from 9am to 5pm and tours conducted in various languages including English, French,Filipino and Russian.

Qal’at Al-Bahrain

This renowned archaeological site is located 6km away from Manama City. It is a seven stratified layered mound which is spread over 10000 square feet. On top of the mount is a fort dating back to the 15th century. Today this UNESCO World Heritage Site welcomes visitors to the elegantly arched buildings and groves of palm trees that once was the capital of Dilmun.

Al Areen Wildlife Park

Just a 40 minute drive from Manama, Al Areen Wildlife Park is a popular attraction in Bahrain. It is sanctuary for over 500 animals and more than 100,000 plant species. The whole park is divided into two sections, one section which is open to the public whereas the other section is a protected reserve equipped with two surface reservoirs of flora and fauna. The park was opened in 1975 and offers the chance to see some of Arabia’s rarest creatures including the Oryx which was considered to be nearly extinct.

Bahrain City Centre

Bahrain City Centre is located at the centre of Manama and is the largest combination of shopping and entertainment center in the country. It features over 350 shops, cafes and restaurants. On the second floor of the building is the Wahooo Water park which offers nearly 162,000 square feet of pools, slides and activities. Apart from these, the mall also features Cineco20 Cinemas which offers exciting movie experiences and Magic Planet which is a giant arcade with rides, game simulators and a bowling alley.

Bahrain National Museum

Bahrain National Museum which opened in 1988 is one of the most alluring buildings in the country. It is located in Manama and is the first museum of the country. Visitors to the museum will be taken on a 4,000 year journey through time as they pass through its halls, from the traditional handicrafts hall, to the customs and traditions hall, burial mounds hall, ancient documents and manuscripts hall, Tylos hall, and Islamic period hall. Other than the galleries, there is a cafeteria and plenty of shops which offers locally crafted souvenirs.
